In VOLUME VI of the Bookbinders Workshop Instructional Series videos, Master Bookbinder Michael Chrisman presents a lengthy overview of the necessary "tools of the trade" in bookbinding, as well as many unique and helpful techniques in book restoration. Many of these techniques are what have aided Mr. Chrisman's reputation of being an "historic style" bookbinder. He emphasizes the great importance of historically correct work, and how to preserve the integrity and original materials whenever possible. Also taught is how to consolidate dry, powdery leather. A fine collection of selected techniques that even veterans (not just beginners) have found very helpful. Over 2 1/2 hours of concise, forthright instruction.
